MONTREAL, October 10, 2013 - Geordie Productions is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathryn Westoll as General Manager of Geordie Productions, effective January 2014. Kathryn will come to Geordie to replace Lyndee Hansen as Lyndee goes off on maternity leave. Geordie Productions is in its 33rd year of operations this season as Montreal's leading professional theatre for all audiences, annually presenting to over 80,000 audience members across Quebec. Artistic Director Dean Patrick Fleming comments: "I am thrilled to have Kathryn come to Geordie and look forward to working closely with her in realizing some of Geordie's ambitious goals beginning with our new productions of the Iliad and the Odyssey in the spring. I think the timing of Kathryn coming to Montreal a couple of months ago and this post opening up is quite perfect and I believe that she is a great person to become the General Manager. I have no doubt that not only Geordie, but the entire Montreal community will benefit from her being here." Kathryn has recently moved to Montreal and comes from Toronto, where she had been the Managing Director of the Toronto Fringe Festival. Kathryn spent 11 years before that as a stage manager working on approximately 70 shows in some of Canada's most notable theatres. She is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada. "I am thrilled to be joining the Geordie team and, by extension, the Montreal theatre community. I look forward to an exciting year." Kathryn says. |
