Openings We're Tracking, February 27-March 4, 2012

Do you like Doubt? Have you seen the movie? Is the play still viable after you have? A priest, a boy, a mother superior, suspected misconduct and all hell breaks loose. You can argue about the quality of the John Patrick Shanley play and/or movie 'til the cows come home, but there is no arguing that this is an actors' vehicle to the proverbial nth degree. Pacific Theatre gives it a go. Vancouver.

Also out West is a gem of a work - Gordon by Morris Panych - about heists, family, funny business and loaded down with the dark wittiness that is the hallmark of this great, Canadian writer. (Can we add, here, that we think Michael Cooper's photo - top - is a gem of its own?) At Arts Club, Vancouver.

And lookee! Here comes another production of Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel (after Arts Club, before Centaur). It's 1905 and the work treats love, race and dreams. At Neptune. (Halifax)
