Radio :30
Written & Performed by Chris Earle with Sam Earle
Directed by Shari Hollet

“…wickedly funny, unexpectedly moving…” - New York Sun

“A powerful tale of betrayal and deceit, created and performed to unsettling perfection by Chris Earle” - New York Times

“***** Exceptional performance.” - CBC Manitoba

“Ever have one of those days?” asks veteran radio actor Ron, as he sits down at the microphone to record a simple ad spot. Ron is having one of “those days” right before our eyes. This acclaimed dark comedy, about an actor who comes unglued in the recording studio, has snapped up major awards and the attention of audiences and critics alike. Chris Earle (Second City Alumni) is pitch-perfect as Ron, the silver-tongued “go-to guy” with the inimitably friendly voice.

Radio :30 is a winner of a Dora Mavor Moore Award (Outstanding New Play), Canadian Comedy Award (New Play) and Chalmers Award (New Play), and will be performed in Prince Edward County at Mount Tabor Playhouse in Milford.

Test Drive

By Dave Carley
Directed by Sarah Phillips

Earl Hughes loves his wife, children and cars – and not always in that order. He also considers his life to be resoundingly ordinary, except that every ten years or so he sets out on a test drive that rocks his world. Earl’s trip begins in 1954 – a hurricane is brewing but he still thinks he can sell a Nash Metropolitan to a would-be starlet. From there he drives through the Cold War, detours around Woodstock and eventually comes to a screeching stop in 2014 – when he must really go to war to keep his driver’s licence.

Test Drive is a wild ride, an homage to an age-gone-by and a salute to the entrepreneur, the eternal optimist, the guy with the zeal to close the deal. A tour-de-force for the performers and a riot for the audience. Test Drive will be directed by Festival Players' Artistic Director, Sarah Phillips, and staged under the Grand Tent at Rosehall Run Vineyards.
