Rare has become a phenomenon in the Queen City. After it took off like a comet at last year's Toronto Fringe, it found a home at the Young Centre where, since it opened last month, it has been extended again and again. Rare is precisely that. Dismissed by some as a novelty act, it is now being accepted for the profoundly theatrical and haunting piece it is.
Funny, I've lived in Toronto my whole life and have never heard it referred to as the Queen City. That was what Buffalo was called. Totally threw me.
