Mikado in Edmonton
Okay, yes, you've seen other pictures of them here but we can't get enough of Deanna Finnman's magnificent anime-inspired costumes for Edmonton Opera's new production of Mikado. Just Finnman's work promises a production that is exploding with colour and the music - well, the music is arguably some of the most beautiful in or out of the Gilbert and Sullivan canon.

Guelph Little Theatre is taking on the charming Picasso At The Lapin Agile by Steve Martin (yes, THAT Steve Martin). If you have seen Woody Allen's film Midnight in Paris, you already have a feel for the time and place.
Meanwhile, at Centaur in Montreal we have a truly exciting world premiere (every new work by Morris Panych makes for an exciting premiere). In Absentia speaks of a woman waiting...waiting...waiting, and the strange young man who walks into her life. Sounds dark? Trust Panych to bring humour and even light to the shadows.
